Accessible Entertainment: New Video Guide App by Yahoo, Gifting, Games, and interview with Marty Schultz of Blindfold Games. (iAVO-006)

(01:01)  iOS 9.2 seems to be running well.  A little glitchier than iOS 9.1 at times on the iPhone 4 S, but not bad.

(01:48)  New Video Guide App by Yahoo.  Very impressive, 100% accessible, great channel and service offerings.  Works well and layout is very intuitive. Thumbs up to Yahoo!

(04:08)  Accessible iOS games. Dice World games, Blindfold series of games, Theta Poker Pro, Blindfold Wildcard, Blindfold Bowling and Farkel.

(05:50)  Gifting. It's better to give than to receive. Gifting made easy with the App Store.  Your gift can help blind and visually impaired friends and family buy apps, music and games.

(06:55)  Oldies but Goodies.  More accessible iOS games.Rollit, Naval Combat, King of Dragon Past, BlindSide and  Audio Archery.

(07:45)  Playing accessible games on iOS devices help improve listening skills and gesture technique.

(08:15)  Blindfold games.  Blindfold Wildcard, Blindfold Bowling, Blindfold Air Hockey, Blindfold Vee Ball, Blindfold Solitaire, Blindfold Dominoes,

(09:25)  Interview with Marty Schultz, developer of Blindfold Games.

(10:23)  How Marty got started in accessible game development.

(14:25)  Of the 25+ blindfold games available on the App Store, blindfold Bowling is the most popular.

(14:59)  New Juggling Game in final development, soon to be released.

VoiceOver goes mainstream with TV commercial featuring Stevie Wonder. Settings, gestures and Mac talk with John Panarese. A little etiquette,
please. (iAVO-005)

(01:50) - Downcast App update breaks accessibility.  The developer response quickly and issues an update to fix issues.

(03:23) - VoiceOver goes mainstream. Apple's new television commercial features VoiceOver with Stevie Wonder.

(05:40) - iOS Settings.

(06:10) - New search field for Settings.

(06:38) - Brian likes to use Siri to quickly get to items in settings.

(07:12) - It's all about Gestures.  Help mode is easy to access with a four finger double-tap.  Provides real-time audio feedback, that lets you know if you are performing your gestures correctly.

(09:21) - VoiceOver seems to have some focus issues in the app updates section of the App Store.

(11:01) - Did you know that you can use Siri to post on your timeline in Facebook?

(11:32) - Macally keyboard, can pair with 5 devices plus it has a USB connection. Great keyboard which includes a numbers pad. It is an iAccessVO favorite.

(13:12) - Apple bluetooth keyboard does not have a good on/off switch for blind and visually impaired users. Brian and Ed both remove or flip the battery when traveling so that the keyboard does not activate their iOS devices. People have been locked out of their devices due to their keyboards communication with their devices when in a backpack or travel bag.

(15:03) - Are these bugs? Notification Center - loss of focus in Today View and notifications stuck on lock screen.

17:08 - Guest: John Panarese of Mac for the Blind.

18:03 - Caps Lock Modifier Key available in El Capitan.

20:38 - Item Chooser appears to be working better in El Capitan. Resetting VoiceOver preferences seems to clear up a lot of little glitches.  John has an audio
tutorial for the VoiceOver Utility on his website that discusses how to reset VoiceOver Preferences.

23:20 - Brian loves using Webspots in Safari. Not great for websites like Facebook, that refresh often.

24:00 - Window Spots and Content Chooser, are two new features in El Capitan, that John thinks have a lot of potential.

31:00 - We Can Hear You! VoiceOver Etiquette. A simple set of wired or bluetooth ear buds can make all the difference in the world.

34:39 - If you don't use or have the fingerprint reader, you can use the rotor to access the handwriting option. Use your finger to draw your passcode numbers on the screen.  VoiceOver does not read the numbers aloud, giving you the privacy you need when unlocking your iPhone in public.
